Suger ! Sugar !



Sugar is one of the ingredients we take almost everyday. There are several types of plan sources for producing sugar such as sugar cane, sugar beets, date palm and sugar maple. The unrefined dark brown sugar produced from sugar cane has very high percentage of microelements that are good to our health. Dark brown sugar contains high percentage of iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus; there are also vitamin B3 and B6, etc within.

In the traditional Chinese medical science, there were details records about the nutrition facts and usage of dark brown sugar since the year 1596. In the olden days, Chinese families, especially in the northern part of China, always use the dark brown sugar and some crops like rice, glutinous rice, sesames to prepare millet porridge for the women in their postpartum period as a kind of supplements to restore their health. In Taiwan and Japan, there are many foods using dark brown sugar as ingredient. Although the color of those food may not good looking, but the taste are great and are very healthy too.
